DiskFerret 1.0.1

DiskFerret

DiskFerret is a disk space analysis and management tool. It analyzes the files within a drive, network share, or folder, and provides charts and detailed information to help you understand where and how disk space is being used. You can think of DiskFerret as a measuring device that you use to determine what is going on inside your disk drive.

Some benefits of DiskFerret are:

Fast visual feedback of disk usage by size, type, date, attribute, or owner

Quickly identify where disk space is being used

Identify file owners using the most space

Find and remove unwanted, unused, temporary, backup, obsolete and duplicate files

Reduce cost of data management

Over the years disk space has become fairly inexpensive, but programs and data files are expanding just as fast as prices drop on drive space. No matter how much space is available it eventually gets used up, slows your system and network down, and you get cramped for space. And, it’s expensive to maintain and manage ever increasing backups. DiskFerret can reduce your cost by helping you quickly find and eliminate unwanted, unused, and duplicate files.

One way to attack the problem of low disk space is the same technique you would use to try to trim your budget. Look at the largest items 1st to determine if they can be trimmed back because they offer the best opportunity for the largest space savings. DiskFerret helps you with this task by analyzing the files on your disk drive and shows you the space used and details about:

largest folders

largest files

duplicate files

file owners

file types (e.g., video, audio)

Filters are a useful way to analyze disk utilization by file types or by file names, and DiskFerret provides extensive filtering capabilities. You can use a variety of built in filters such as Temporary & Backup Files, Audio Files, Video Files, etc., or create your own reusable filters for specific needs. Filters can include or exclude files.

Try DiskFerret for 30 days, free.
